Is the love for her kingdom and her parents enough to overcome the magical-religious control over her people? A Story inspired by the Mexican legend of Popocatepetl (Smoking Mountain) and Iztaccihuatl (White Woman or Sleeping Woman), two of the tallest volcanoes in Mexico. The Young Adult novel tells a story inspired on the legend of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl. It is a prequil to the legend. It is not only the adventure of these characters but it presents many interesting details of Aztec life and culture.

Comments from readers…
--Inspired by a Mexican legend, Lilibeth has created a classic, rich story of forbidden love between an Aztec princess and a soldier which is complicated by the promised marriage between the princess and the king's wicked advisor. The lovely paintings perfectly illustrate the characters in rich colors. Readers of all ages will enjoy this beautiful book.
–My attention was held page after page as the answer to two questions were revealed: "Will good overcome evil?" or "Will evil overcome good?". I loved the excitement as the story of the legend revealed itself. The author, Lilibeth Andre, not only writes well but she is also a professional artist. Her colorful paintings can be seen throughout the book. She painted each character with emotion and understanding. I would recommend this book.
